McLarens, a global independent insurance services provider, announced the strategic acquisition of Vanderwal & Joosten (VWJ), a leading research firm for body repair and technical claims in construction and engineering, environmental, liability and agriculture.
McLarens has bought 100% of VWJ's equity. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
With more than 25 years of experience, VWJ's team of more than 30 experts, technical engineers and lawyers is spread over four offices in Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Schiphol and Utrecht and serves clients throughout the country and internationally. VWJ's experts provide technical refinish and investigation services, focusing on construction, civil and mechanical engineering, energy and natural resources, as well as accident-related losses.
VWJ has been the committed international subsidiary of McLarens in the Netherlands since 2007. The acquisition represents a natural continuation of this trusted relationship and fits perfectly with McLarens' strategy to expand into continental Europe, McLarens said in a statement.
VWJ will add significant technical expertise and research skills in construction, engineering and accident claims to McLarens' claims adjustment and claims management business.
The acquired company will remain under the leadership of Gerrit Taal, general manager. Taal is supported by the current executive leadership team and senior employees who will all remain in their existing role.

McLarens retained Norton Rose Fulbright LLP as legal counsel, while VWJ retained Bernhaege Advocaten at Veghel as legal counsel and Dutch Dream Group in connection with this transaction.
